Megan is the owner of Waugh Law, a law practice specializing in trust, estates, conservatorship, and elder law. Clients have described Megan as “dedicated, caring, honest and reliable,” and “a very hard worker and dedicates herself to giving the very best possible representation for her clients with diligence and follow through.”
Megan works exclusively in trust and estates, and has been named a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in Estate and Trust Litigation for the past five years (2016 – 2020). In 2020 and 2019, Megan was named in Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California’s Top Young Lawyers, and as a Top Southern California Up-And-Coming Lawyer in 2018.
Megan has reached multi-million-dollar settlements for her clients, as well as, represented a private professional fiduciary, in what was believed to be one of the most valuable Los Angeles County probate auction sales for $16.2 million.
Since 2017, Megan has served as a Court-Appointed-Counsel for the Los Angeles Superior Court representing individuals who face being placed under a conservatorship. Often times, these individuals are elders suffering from dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease.
Megan received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign where she graduated with honors. She received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine School of Law where she graduated cum laude. While at Pepperdine, Megan served as an editor for the Journal of National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary. The Journal also published her article: A Broke(n) System: Comment on the Supreme Court’s Decision to Rule on the Equal Access Provision in Douglas v. Independent Living Center and its Potential Impact on the Affordable Care Act.
Megan is daily yoga practitioner, and she uses her practice to assist clients through challenges that often arise during the legal process. While serving as an officer on the Santa Monica Bar Association, Megan and her husband created an event entitled Yoga for the Legal Mind with the goal of bringing physical, mental, and emotional wellness to the legal community. They continue to hold these events.
Lauren Lobley, marketing director and trust & estates paralegal
Lauren is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, freelance copywriter and mother of two with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and a major in Drama. She attended law school at Bond University on the Gold Coast of Australia in 2005. She worked in management at lululemon for 4 years and then went on to become a professional chef and published cookbook author of The Accidental Paleo.
In 2020, being unhappy with the state of postpartum care in the USA (and being 6 months postpartum with her second child), she started an interview-based podcast called The Mom Feed in order to give mothers the emotional, physical and spiritual support they need in order to thrive in motherhood. She has interviewed celebrities, influencers, nutritionists, psychologists, birth educators, doctors of physical therapy, MDs, and more and has built a community of moms who have rallied around the podcast.
She is excited to join Waugh Law as the Marketing Director and Trusts and Estates Paralegal.
